A little over a year ago we purchased the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System at our regional hospital, Kootenai Medical Center. We have now become facile in the technique and performance of robotic surgery. We are using this technology to perform the full range of urologic procedures, including radical prostatectomy, cystectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy, pyeloplasty, and ureteral repair.

Currently, three providers, Dr. Ellison, Dr. Clark, and Dr. McLaughlin, are using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.

This approach provides numerous benefits to our patients:

• A list of your current medications
• Any and all X-rays films from other groups or hospitals
• Insurance information and picture ID card such as a driver’s license
• Information about what treatments and medications have been tried in the past
• Medical records from prior visits that you think may be helpful
